The
Metropolitan LODGES
Dublin

The
37 Lodges of the Metropolitan area are unique in having no Provincial Grand
Lodge structure and are under the direct jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of
Ireland. The Metropolitan Board of General Purposes, while having no
Ritual or Ceremonial function, exercises many administrative functions in a
similar manner to the Provincial Grand Lodges.
The
Metropolitan Board consists of 15 members elected annually by the Lodges with
members retiring on a three year rotational basis. Each member represents
a number of Lodges including own, and is responsible for communications between
the Board and those Lodges.
The
MetroMason newsletter, published in the spring and autumn each year, brings news
of coming events and reports of past events to members.
