Overseas delegates and
Representatives of Sister Grand Lodges will register in Freemasons' Hall where there will be tours of the building available.
That evening there will be a
Gala Concert in the National Concert Hall, Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin2, at 8p.m..
The National Concert Hall
seats 1200 approximately and its location is shown on the appended City street map.
Thursday June 8th.
The 275th Anniversary
Communication of Grand Lodge will be held in the Royal Dublin Society, Ballsbridge, Dublin
4, in the early afternoon.
In the evening, the
Celebration Banquet will be held in the Burlington Hotel, Upper Leeson Street, Dublin 4.
Friday June 9th.
This, the last day, has been mainly
organised for our Overseas Visitors and Representatives of Sister Grand Lodges. A bus tour
is proposed to Birr
Castle, Co. Offaly, home of the first Grand Master in 1725, Richard,
1st Earl of Rosse. THIS TOUR
IS NOW FULLY BOOKED (17/03/00)
Those going on the bus tour
will be able to visit the Gardens and Science Exhibition including the great telescope
built by the 3rd Earl of Rosse who was one of the foremost astronomers of his
day. The telescope has only recently been restored.
It is also planned to visit
the Masonic Hall in Birr, seat of St. Brendan's Lodge No.163, which was warranted in 1747.
